Celebrating Jason & Serinn ~ Pre Wedding

Hi Everyone,

Want to share with you an epic Pre Wedding which I shot yesterday for the lovely Jason & Serinn. To sum up the day it was indeed a good mix of answered prayers, good cheer & unexpected change of plans.

The day started out @ Tampines Eco Green. Being an outdoor location, weather was definitely a big consideration. As we walked over to the park, the skies look menacing and the weather report has mentioned thunderstorms all over the island. I whispered to Jason that if it rained we might have to change plans and even consider a reshoot for this location.  After that we also prayed a prayer that the weather would clear and that we would be able to proceed with our shoot. God certainly answers and not only did it not rain, rays of golden sun began shining through the dark clouds and we had nice soft light instead of the gloom which comes before rain.

Next came Changi Airport T3 where we were assisted by Christina, the very helpful wedding coordinator of Jason & Serinn who helped us gain access to the swimming pool to scout out a nice location for a shoot during their actual day. We were also offered a place to keep our equipment as we rested and waited for the couple's make up and hairdo to be done. As I was resting, I got a text from my wife if I was caught in the thunderstorm in the morning. I was thinking "What thunderstorm?" It was raining cats and dogs in the central of Singapore where she works. God is indeed good! On we continued with our shoot at the second location and the light could not have been better. The walls of the Crowne Plaza inner facade reminded me of a cathedral and indeed we managed to capture many beautiful memories.

I guess the most memorable part of my day was the last location at Kent Ridge Park. We were supposed to capture some shots of the sunset there. However, due to rush hour traffic and the fact that I got lost on the way there =S (My weird and wonderful sense of direction) The sun had long set by the time I arrived at the location (7.30pm) Driving up the winding road to Kent Ridge park, I told my assistant (Derek Kwee, an awesome buddy and baby photographer) that would would not need speedlights (Camera flashes) but a torch light to find our way around the very dark park. I then realised that I needed to dig deep in order to make this last location worthwhile for the couple's time. We tried setting up a couple of lights, but as i did so all the while i wondered how I was going to deal with this sudden change of plans. Thank God for His inspirations and we brought out our video lights and even my car headlights were used to light up Serinn's gown! Jason mentioned later that the night shoot was the part which he enjoyed the most. haha talk about Grace. =)

Anyway, Jason & Serinn, thank you so much for having me document these lovely memories for you and I am looking forward to doing so on your Wedding Day as well.

Enjoy these previews!
